Don’t wait for others to give you an opportunity. Just create one for yourself.

Nowadays, it is possible to do just about anything, yet most employers want someone who can do a little bit of everything, especially when it comes to digital marketing. Even if you want to be a content writer simply, coaches, advisors, and recruiters will all tell you that you must become a “T-shaped” candidate.

For those who do not know, being T-shaped means that you are highly specialized in one area while having sufficient knowledge in a broad group of subjects related to your specialization. For example, someone aspiring to be a content writer must also become experienced in:

  • Social Media Marketing
  • Email Marketing
  • Copywriting
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Google Analytics
  • Affiliate/Influencer Marketing
  • Public Relations
  • Sales

The whole nine yards. The claimed reason is that many employers want someone who can speak the language of their colleagues; that way project will run smoother. But also, because many companies are cheap as the toilet paper they use to wipe their B-hind.
