Oct 30th, Forbe recorded Taylor Swift as one of the first billionaires from music to have done so without a “lucrative side hustle gig” that other successful artists have been known for.

She didn’t need a liquor store, fashion brand, or to sell makeup to get ahead in her industry, just ownership of her music catalog and all the benefits that go with it. It’s quite simple (not easy!) when you think about it. Her catalog allows more money from touring that she uses to create film concerts and generate another source of income that will probably go right back into creating more music.

Importance of ownership.

And all of this is possible because she owns her masters. All of this is possible because she owns evergreen content.

Wait what’s that?

Evergreen content

The key word is taking “ownership” of your work and using it to attract more streams of income.

This is easier said than done. Excellent article
